week end project - DIY wallart - quadro fai da te

Everybody knows that I am fond of DIY artwall and you know that I have realized a few pieces that I have displayed in my apartment. Well, here I am with another Mondrian inspired DIY artwall. I am so proud of it. Maybe it need some polish, but it’s almost finished. Sometimes ago I bought three canvases with photographs of New York. I had purchased three of them, and frankly while they appeared to be so contemporary at first sight, they looked just horrible when I hung them on the wall. They had a very kitschy taste. That’s why I had made up my mind to transform them into something new and really contemporary. You’ve seen the first one, (here is the link). Here is the second one. I used the same technique. I removed the printed photograph by soaking the canvas, painted it with a white acrylic color and then applied paper stripes , filled the white spaces with other acrylic colors and finally removed the stripes. What do you think???? 

Tutti sapete che sono un appassionata di quadri fai da te e quasi tutti sapete che ho già realizzato dei pezzi che ho già esposto nel mio appartamento. Eccomi di nuovo a voi con un altro quadro fai da te ispirato a Mondrian. Ne vado molto fiera, sebbene sia di facile realizzazione. Forse necessita di un leggero labor limae, ma è da ritenere comunque finito. Tempo fa ho comprato tre quadri che rappresentavano delle foto di New York. Presa dalla foga del momento, mi erano sembrati così contemporanei e adatti alla mia casa che non ci pensai su due volte a comprarli. Ma quell'amore a prima vista, una volta a casa, si trasformò in un odio senza precedenti. Appesi al muro, si erano improvvisamente trasformati in dei pezzi kitch e fin troppo dozzinali. Perciò ho pensato bene di utilizzare la base in tela e di trasformarli in qualcosa di diverso. Il primo lo avete già visto. Eccovi il secondo. Ho rimosso la foto bagnando la tela con acqua fredda, ho dipinto la tela con del colore acrilico bianco, ho applicato delle strisce di carta per definire i quadrati e successivamente ho riempito  gli spazi bianchi con altri colori acrilici. Alla fine, ho rimosso le strisce di carta. Che pensate?
