DIY Artwall - arredare una parete , quadri fai da te

Hi dears! Looking up my favorite design magazines, I found a gret idea for a DIY artwork. There was an article on a French famous designer's home. Everything looked so fresh, modern and contemporary. I felt beyond inspired by those interiors that I made up my mind to create some similar canvases for my house as well. I had bought some canvases with photographs from New York city. I beg newyorkers' pardon, but the pictures didn't really represent New York city as I know it so I decided to transform them into something brand new. Being inspired by the artwall of the French decided, I chose the same patterns ( but not the same hue combination) for my DIY art. In a few pharagraphs the steps you should follow if you want to realize the same painting:

- take three basic acrilic colors: red, yellow and white or ivory.

- take your photographed canvas and put it under your shower to take off the picture. Once you've washed off the picture, pass the white color, let it dry and afterwards draw two semicircles and color them with your red and yellow acrylics. Obviously, you can combine different colors, according to your furniture. Hope this post helps you for some inspiration! Enjoy! Till next post!

Spring inspiration - furniture with a bit of fashion - arredamento primaverile e un pizzico di moda

Spring has finally sprung! Rome is in bloom, trees are blossoming and I feel so goodhumored and lively. I am usually influenced by bad or good weather and a sunny day makes me feel highspirited. Green is the perfect color that reflects the quintessence of the season. I am revaluating it even in interior design. Here are some interiors predominantly green and the color looks great even for urban interiors, which means that you can use this hue for your city apartment as well. The interiors I would like to share with do not look not at all rustic, don’t you think? Recently I bought myself a striped blouse that I am loving. It fits me very good and I really think I look so springy when I put it on. A striped t-shirt, white pants and a straw hat I think are the items every woman should have in spring. To me it's the perfect casual daily outfit......  

Finalmente la primavera è qui. Gli alberi sono in fiore ed io mi sento così di buon umore e piena di vita. Mi ritengo molto meteopatica, ragion per cui il bel o brutto tempo influenza tantissimo le mie giornate. Il verde sicuramente è il colore perfetto che rappresenta la quintessenza della stagione. E a proposito di colori.... Sto rivalutando il verde anche nell'interior design. In questo post vorrei condividere con voi alcuni interni dove il colore predominante è il verde in tutte le sue sfaccettature, un colore che sembra appropriato anche per interni cittadini e dal sapore nient'affatto rustico. Che ne pensate? 
La primavera chiama in causa anche la moda. La perfetta mise primaverile? Pantaloni bianchi, maglietta a strisce e cappellino di paglia.

It happens in Rome: contemporary furniture store - succede a Roma

There is a wonderful place in Rome where style, elegance and the most edgy novelties in interior design find their natural habitat. I'am talking about Stuarr, a big store in one of the mos characteristic streets of Rome, via Nizza. If you ever happen to be in Rome, don't miss a stop at Stuarr. I love this store and having the fortune to work very close to it, I take advantage of my lunch breaks to have a walk and take a look at the utmost novelties in interior design! When I was a student, I never wanted to share an apartment with other people. I used to be a traditional girl and a bit conservative and the time. Eversince, I developed a special taste for little places, little flats and a particular flair for interior design. No wonder that I've always dreamt of a personal little intimate nest to share with .... MYSELF. Well, those times are gone but I never stop thinking about a small isolating shelter. Here are some ideal and perfect solutions for well to do students living abroad or on their own. Some of these delicious small places would be great accomodations for singles or one kid families as well. Don't you think? 

Diy ARTWORK in the entryway - quadro fai da te nell'ingresso

As promised, today I would like to share with you a detail of my home’s entry hall  where orange, red, purple and other spots of color add some personality to this corner of the apartment and liven it up.  I am very proud of the outcome, because every object and every single detail is the result of thrift décor, Diy Artwork and flea market décor objects. I bought the shadow of the lamp at IKEA for just 1 euro. The base is also from Ikea.

The main piece, the painting, is a creation of mine, clearly of Mondrian and Kandinsikij inspiration.

For the canvas I used oil painting colors. (I hadn’t discovered the magical acrylic paint colors, yet!) . It took me some days to finish the painting, because, as you know, oil colors need a little more time to dry.

I purchased the pewter penholder and the pewter centerpiece at the Paris flea market during a parisian trip I made two years ago. It goes without saying that if you ever happen to be in Paris, the flea market should be one of your must-to-do stops. One of the best places for interiorolics.
 This is the artful corner of the house where the contemporary pieces mingle with liberty and antique decoration pieces.

Come promesso, oggi vorrei condividere con voi una porzione dell'ingresso della mia casa. chiamiamolo l'angolo colorato perché come vedete, predominano i colori caldi, arancione, rosso, giallo che riescono a dare alle pareti bianche e all'ambiente circostante un tocco di personalità e di allegria. Sono molto soddisfatta del risultato, perché ogni oggetto è frutto di una ricerca di elementi nei mercatini di antiquariato, di opere fai da te e pezzi di illuminazioni acquistati a prezzi molto, ma molto convenienti. L'abat-jour è stato acquistato all'Ikea, lo stesso dicasi per la base, il quadro è stato creato da me utilizzando colori a olio (visto che non avevo ancora scoperto i magici colori acrilici). Ho dovuto anche aspettare un bel po' prima di appoggiarlo sulla mensola dato che i colori ad olio impiegano molto più tempo per asciugare. I due pezzi di peltro, il porta penne e il centro tavole o svuotasche (è la funzione che svolge tuttora) lì ho comprati al meraviglioso mercato delle pulci di Parigi, tappa indispensabile per le interiorolics come noi. Questo è uno degli angoli artistici della casa dove troverete insieme pezzi di ispirazione contemporanea come il quadro che si ispira chiaramente a Mondrian e a Kandinskij e pezzi in stile liberty. Kitchen style - Ispirazione in cucina

I love order, organization and style wherever it is. Being a working mom I am really proud of myself not when I manage to be multitasking, not when I finish my projects, not when I get back home to my toddler boy, but when I manage to cook without spending lots of time in the kitchen. I adore cooking, only if I do it without effort, creatively, optimizing my precious time. After dinner I always try to give myself a rule, declutter, clear up the kitchen and let it as neat as possible for the next morning. It's not always possible, I have to confess..... I know, I'm not one of those super and perfect moms, but I try to put into practice some precious rules that make life simpler. Here are some wonderful, practical kitchens where I could live and cook for hours. Notice the simple and elegant solutions the interiors have. Ikea tables and chairs, transparent  pieces of furniture that help spaces look wider, big elements on the wall, warm colors versus total white look. Which one do you vote for? 

Amo l'ordine, l'organizzazione e lo stile ovunque si trovi. Visto che come molte sono una mamma lavoratrice mi sento orgogliosa non quando riesco ad essere multitasking, non quando porto a termine i miei progetti, non quando torno da mio figlio, ma quando riesco a cucinare senza trascorrere troppo tempo in cucina. Amo cucinare, ma solo se questo non richiede troppi sforzi, solo se riesco a farlo in modo creativo, ottimizzando i tempi. Dopo cena cerco di lasciare la cucina sempre in ordine, eliminando il superfluo per trovarla il più pulita possibile il giorno dopo. Sappiate però che non sono una supermamma perfetta.... Cerco però di mettere in pratica e di impormi delle regole che rendono la vita più semplice. Vi propongo alcune cucine in cui potrei passare ore e ore a cucinare..... e notate le soluzioni pratiche ed eleganti degli interni: Tavoli e sedie ikea, elementi d'arredo trasparenti che aiutano ad allargare gli spazi, grandi elementi decorativi sui muri, colori caldi contrapposti a total white. Per quale votate? 

Warm hues - orange red pink interiors (in interior Design and fashion)

When it comes to color I am not as courageous and daring as some interiors designers or architects and stylists would like us to be. As I've told you, my home's predominant colors are beige, grey, white and only some orange and red pops that you'll find on some of my throw pillows and my DIY artwork. Recently, nonetheless I've been noticing a return of bold, warm  and audacious hue combinations, especially pink, red and orange combos. Interior design, style and fashion have always mingled and drawn inspiration from each-other. Today I was surfing on the Internet, glancing through one of my favourite and most influential Italian newspapers and I bumped into an article about Anna Wintour during a Fashion event that took place in Milan a couple of days ago. That picture was so inspiring. Applying that hue combination to interiors doesn't seem to be tireing to the eyes and adds to the entire space a huge amount of light and..... optimism. 

Quando si parla di colore non riesco ad essere molto coraggiosa e non riesco a osare così come ci impone la moda e gli stilisti (sebbene lo desideri). Come vi ho già raccontato le tinte predominanti della mia casa sono il beige, il grigio, il bianco e solo ogni tanto troverete delle macchie di colore sui cuscini arancione e porpora e su qualche quadro "made by me". Di recente, anche nella moda, ho notato un ritorno dei colori "forti", dalla personalità ben definita. Vi è un ritorno di colori caldi, audaci e di combinazioni di fucsia, rosso e arancione. L'interior design e la moda subiscono le stesse influenze in fatto di colore, forme e tendenze. Per il post che leggete ho preso spunto da una foto di Anna Wintour, invitata a Milano per un evento di moda. questa foto mi ha ispirato anche perché ho trovato una conferma sulla mia scelta di aggiungere un tocco di arancio e porpora alla mia casa, una combinazione che non stanca e che oltre a conferire all'ambiente luce e calore, induce una sensazione di ottimismo.
