A quiet relaxing home office - angolo ufficio in casa

I think that  every woman on earth keeps working  even if she’s not in her office and I am one of them. I get home late and my toddler son wants my attention, he just yearns for some parental loving care. Then, there is housekeeping , cooking for dinner for hungry hubby, cooking for toddler … and at last switching again my computer trying to figure out how many projects can I follow. There are translations I must deliver within a short period of time and a pile of interior design projects that I am working on with a friend. That's my daily schedule. Well, there are thousands of things waiting for me  when I get back home…. That is why I am longing for a place like this!!!

Of course, I have a personal relaxing working corner on my own, but I need to redesign it and give it a fresh and colorful look. I just need to add some pictures, bold hues and other little objects that would create a much more intimate concentration-inducing atmosphere.  Here are some interiors I can draw inspiration from. 

Ogni donna del globo, per deformazione genetica, lavora anche dopo l'ufficio e ovviamente, io sono una di quelle. Tornata a casa, devo dedicarmi al mio piccolo bimbo che non vede l'ora di avere un po' di attenzione dalla genitrice assente per quasi tutta la giornata. Poi c'è il maritino che reclama la cena, il piccolo che reclama il cibo ed infine il pc acceso per capire come potrei raccapezzarmi tra lavori di traduzione e altri impegni di interior design che sto seguendo da un po'. Ovviamente, ho un angoletto tutto mio, ma penso che necessiti di un un rifacimento. Dovrei aggiungere qualche quadro colorato che ispiri buon umore, crei un'atmosfera rilassante e induca alla concentrazione. Eccovi alcuni interni da cui potrei trarre ispirazione.

Stripes.........................

I'm really liking stripes in home furniture lately, coniugated in every form and color. I bought a sofa lately and I am thinking to upholster it with a white and black striped textile. I'm also going mad about striped rugs and carpets. Mostly I like bold and classical color combos, like black and white, yellow and grey, yellow and black and so on.....  Stripes are so modern and contemporary and they give a very fresh and young look to every interior. Her are some interiors I chose for you and where you'll find my favourite decorative elements; stripes, facial outlines, bold color, all-white interiors.

Profilo decorativo

A breve realizzerò questi quadri anche per casa mia e ovviamente, pubblicherò il risultato finale. Trovo l'idea molto originale e molto decorativa. La si può applicare anche su tessuti, fodere di cuscini ecc. A presto! A Parigi, a Montmartre, sulla collina degli artisti, troverete molti artisti specializzati nel ritaglio del profilo. Se vi capita di fare un salto, fatevi ritagliare il vostro profilo e incorniciatelo su una parete!

Very very soon, even if I really don’t know when, I’m going to realize this facial outlines painting for one of my totally bare home walls. It goes without saying, I will publish pictures of the outcome. I find this a very original and decorative idea. You can transfer the image on pillows, on tissues etc.  

In you ever go to Paris, on Montmartre hill, the hill of the artists, you’ll find a lot of professional artists specialized in facial outlines. You can take your facial painting and put it in a frame to decorate your wall. 

Ecco un altro esempio di arredo di una parete con due profili ritagliati in nero su sfondo bianco. Sono decisamente i miei preferiti.

Ed eccovi un altro esempio di una composizione a tutta parete di quadri di varie dimensioni e soggetti. Guardate come spiccano i due profili di ispirazione così british!

Here is another wall composition made up of different frames, different subjects and dimnsions. Only notice how the two outlines catch the eye and become the real protagonists of the wall. 

Ed eccovi un altro esempio che a prima vista sembra quasi esagerato. L'intera parete è stata decorata dai profili in bianco e nero. L'effetto mi entusiasma. Avrei lasciato la parete solo con carta da parati e non avrei aggiunto la cornice che in questo caso dà l'idea di una parete troppo affollata da elementi diversi.


Another example which at first sight might seem a little "exaggerated". The whole wall has been decorated with black and white outlines. The whole effect is just amazing. On my view, the wall without the central landscape frame would have looked less "cluttered".

Pareti di casa - quadri "made by you"

ciao! Nei vari giri per la città e tra le suggestioni catturate nell'aria recentemente ho scoperto una vera e propria passione per quadri moderni e contemporanei "made at home". Parlo di veri e propri pezzi di arredamento, che donano ad una parete spoglia quel tocco personale che da solo basta a decorare un'intera stanza. Eccovi alcune idee!!!!!!!


Walking around in Rome, among classical/antique suggestions and inspiring ideas that are always floating in the air, I’ve found out a real passion for modern and contemporary “made at home” paintings. I’m talking about real pieces of furnitures that will give to your bare and shabby walls that original touch that will decorate the entire room. Here are some great ideas!!!!

Per arredare questa parete è bastato prendere due pannelli e dipingerli di due colori molto "faddish" e trendy. Il risultato, di ispirazione minimalista, è straordinariamente efficace. Inoltre, è un'idea che si può tranquillamente realizzare a casa propria.

You take two big panels, paint them with bright, faddish and trendy colours. You’ll have this minimalist outcome, irresistibly sophisticated and very easy to realize as well.

Questo quadro invece è stato realizzato attaccando dei pezzi di carta o cartone colorato nelle varie nuance su 3 pannelli di dimensioni identiche. Penso che appoggiarli direttmaente sul piano e non sulla parete sia poco classico e molto contemporaneo. Se non si vuole però appoggiarli sulla parete, i quadri devono essere di grandi dimensioni. E appoggiati per terra? A breve, provvederò ad inviarvi qualche idea......

These paintings have been realized using three big panels. The painting is made up of colored pieces of paper stuck with glue and put on the cupboard in a very practical way. No need to hang paintings and picture on the wall. You can change the layout of your personal gallery, you can change your paintings, frames and whatever you want. You can put paintings directly on the floor as well. Soon, I’ll show you that laying paintings on the floor make the whole atmosphere of your house look much more elegant and contemporary.  

Qui si tratta di tre stampe, ricavate da vecchi album e cataloghi di erboristeria, incorniciate in cornici bianche. Sullo sfondo beige della parete i quadri richiamano i colori tenui/pastello dell'ambiente circostante e dell'arredamento semplice ma elegante. 

Here we have three old prints, maybe taken from a herbarium catalogue and put in white frames. As you notice, these prints reflect the pastel colors of the room.

un museo in casa

E' possibile vivere in un museo? Pensavo di no, ma dopo aver sfogliato un po' di foto comincio a cambiare idea. Certo, bisognerebbe avere a disposizione degli spazi abbastanza ampi, ma lo si può fare anche con la parete spoglia di casa propria. Le pareti dei musei contengono a volte un solo elemento, di grandi dimensioni o diversi elementi di svariate dimensioni. L'importante è conservare il fil rouge che unisce gli elementi decorativi all'ambiente circostante.
