Room of the week - Capri paradise

It has been an odd summer this year in Rome and I think we made the right choice going to Greece amd enjoying the sun. It seems it will never set for a long time because the first rays of sun and the warmth are all at one replaced by rainy days and bulky clouds. I really need some sun to feel in the right mood. I am a Mediterranean girl, right? It is such a necessary element for my humour that I am just coveting right now. This is why I chose this wonderful outdoor in Capri, the Isle "par excellence". Hope you enjoy the virtual view just as I am doing right now.

Greek nostalgia - Chapter 1

Dear friends! As promised hereI am with some pictures of the spellbinding island of Zakynthos, one of the three biggest Ionian Greek Islands. We took a direct flight from Rome which was extremely confortable for us being two adults and a kid of almost 4, to reach our destination. We spent our week of vacation in the Kalamaki beach area, just 15 minutes from the center of the town. Zakynthos has an ancient history, very much linked and intertwined to Venice and Europe in general. The people of Zakynthos are so welcoming, warm and super friendly with foreigners. As me and my family are totally in love with this wonderful spot of the Ionian sea we will for sure go back and spend some more weeks next year, hopefully. Today's post is dedicated to some design/architectural places I captured with my Iphone. They certainly are not top quality shots, but they give you an idea of the weather we found, of the beauty and the taste of the people and the colors of nature in July. Have a great time!

This bar was just two steps ahead from our hotel. Never been there but I loved the way it was refurbished. It was certainly very relaxing, I heard good music (mainly soft jazz) coming and those Blue and white hues captured my attention and you know that I love that combo.

Wednesday's fashion - Mercoledì Fashion

Hello there! Hopefully I am heading for Greece within a few days. I promise I'll be back with plenty of pictures of those wonderful corners of the world. Greece in summer means summer outfits. My closet is definitely is carving for some essential pieces that I must have. This is my selection of some basics for the the summer and sunny days along with some glam and useful accessories. Maxi dresses, floreal patterns, large hats to protect my skin from the rays and a big satchel for the evening strolling and of course a long long striped dress (which is my absolute favorite).

 Ciao a tutti! Sembra che il progetto per una breve vacanza greca sti aper andare in porto e detto tra noi, non sto più nella pelle. E Grecia significa outfit per l'estate, comodi e trendy. Eccomi quindi con una selezione di pezzi essenziai che devo assolutamente procurarmi inqualche modo. Un maxi dress, motivi floreali, un maxi cappello per proteggermi dai raggi del sole e ovviamente, un vestito lungo a striscie (il mio super favorito della stagione). Che ne dite?

Bedroom Mission - Missione camera da letto

Hello! Here I am with my very personal series of upcoming projects for my new apartment. The one I am posting today is about bedroom decoration choices. Far from me any allusions to the book (I haven't even fliped through its pages. It was needless because it was a mainstream topic for a long time and frankly rather annoying) I am so much shade of grey oriented for a bedroom. It would be the most appropriate choice for my bedroom which is so full of light that a neutral backdrop such as grey and its shades would have a mitigating and appeasing effect to the overflowing sun. I find it so relaxing, chic and elegant. Then, I ever have too much of it, I could always add colorful accessories to brighten up the whole atmosphere, don't you think? With a color like that you can always work on layering. Have a great day!

 

 

Ciao a tutti! Oggi vi propongo la tonalità che mi frulla nella testa da un bel po' di tempo e che occupa tutti i miei progetti di design, le sfumature di grigio. Lungi da me allusioni al libro che neanche ho mai sfogliato. Trovo il grigio così elegante per una stanza da letto e particolarmente adatto alla mia stanza da letto dove il sole entra abbondante e dove bisognerebbe mitigarne l'effetto. Con uno sfondo grigio o accessori che rimandino a qualche sua sfumatura, l'effetto Eleganza e Relax sarebbe assicurato. E nel caso dovessi averne abbastanza mi basterebbe semplicemente aggiungere qualche accessorio colorato per riportare un tocco di allegria.

 

 

Room of the week

Hello! Yesterday I missed my weekly appointment with the Room of the week series. I wish to all of you a wonderful weekend and leave you with this wonderfully refurbished interior. Please, don't consider the fireplace which isn't exactly what I am looking for right now, but according to the tones and the airy space this interior makes me think about sunny summer morning! Oh that sofa, the orange hue which seems to be the new trend of the year..... Orange is the new black isnt' it? I would spend my whole weekend stretched out watching frivolous and romantic movies! How do I miss an evening like that! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

 

Ciao a tutti! Ieri ho saltato il nostro appuntamento settimanale con la serie "stanza della settimana", ma lo avevo semplicemente rimandato ad oggi, per proporvi una stanza da sogno. Nell'augurarvi un fine settimana meraviglioso vi lascio con questo raffinatissimo living dal sapore rustico-contemporaneo. Rustico per i colori caldissimi e gli elementi d'arredo in legno massiccio e contemporaneo per alcuni pezzi di design immortali come le barcelona Chairs. Nonostante il fuoco nel camino, elemento da non considerare dato che sono alla ricerca di ambienti ariosi ed estivi, tuttavia l'interno fa pensare alle soleggiate mattinate estive. E quel divano è così invitante che vorrei passarci l'intero week-end semplicemente sdraiata a guardare film romantici. Ebbene sì, confesso! E una confessione così mi si potrà concedere o no, dopo una settimana intensa? Buon fine settimana a tutti!

 

Beach house inspiration

Hello friends! One of my most popular posts ever is a post dedicated to Beach house inspiration and blue and white combination. Well, here I am again, trying not to sound monotonous. This combination still remains my absolute favorite for a perfect coastal style. It reminds my of Greek atmospheres, and it brings along the breezy fresh air of seaside locations, the deep blue sea of the Eagean islands and the amazing blue of the Sardinia seaside. White and Blue is timeless and for the Beach house inspiration roundup here is my very personal selection of some beautiful interiors where white and blue predominate, mixed up with some rattan furniture and natural raw materials like straw, wood, stones and shells. Blue and white wallpapers can also be great decor solutions for a stunning effect. Enjoy!

Cari amici, uno dei miei post più letti è stato quello dedicato all'arredo della casa al mare e dato che molti dei miei lettori sono alla ricerca di ispirazione su come decorare il loro  buen retiro estivo, eccomi a voi con una serie di interni dove predomina la combinazione Bianco/Blue. Questi due colori rimangono tutt'ora i miei preferiti per un rilassante rifugio al mare. E' un po' come se portassero con sé la brezza marina, l'aria fresca delle mattinate d'estate, il sapore del sale e il profondo blu del mar Egeo o della Sardegna. E se poi nel bianco e blu inserite pezzi in rattan, decorazioni in materiale grezzo come la pietra, il legno e le conchiglie e soprattutto una carta da parati nei toni scelti , l'effetto sarà semplicemente stupefacente.
