Chi vive in una casa dalle dimensioni reali (tanto per non definirla piccola) è sempre alla ricerca di soluzioni geniali e intelligenti dove poter conservare e/o nascondere le proprie cose. Eccomi qua!!!
Non amo assolutamente il caos in casa, propugno l'idea che si possa vivere molto meglio con pochi oggetti, ma nell'attesa che ci si disfi definitivamente di quelle cose inutili che prima o poi butteremo, eccovi una soluzione estremamente intelligente, che nasce come soluzione temporanea ma che potrebbe trasformarsi in una soluzione di design. Usare le tende al posto delle ante è una di quelle soluzioni che voglio e devo assolutamente condividere, perché le trovo intelligenti, facili da realizzare ed estremamente chic, oltreché shabby. Una ragione in più dunque per adottarle, in qualsiasi ambiente della casa, dalla cucina, fino alla stanza dei bimbi o alla stanza da letto padronale. E poi basta cambiare il tessuto e il gioco è fatto. Per non parlare della facilità con cui si aprono e della loro leggerezza....... Al prossimo post!

Today's post is about managing to live with cabinets and storage place with no doors and use curtains instead. Living in a small apartment I am always on the hunt for smart and genial storage solutions. I love to declutter but I love to hide momentaneously unnecessary objects till I get rid of them once and for all. Using curtains instead of doors for a storage space is one of those very smart solutions I like to share with you. It is low maintanance, inexpensive and easy to realize. Take e curtain rod, choose your favorite texitile and your favorite pattern and here you are with your perfect textile door. Do you have a closet or a place where you place everything you don't need usually and all those things that need to be put away because you use just once in a lifetime? I think, that a storage space, covered by curtains instead of doors is the ideal solution. It is sooooo simple and so elegant at the same time. The best thing about curtains is their simplicity, I would rather say their shabby and chic look, and how they can be a solution for whatever interior, from the kitchen to the storage place, from the entryway to the bedroom. Curtains, mon amour - Arredare con le tende

Quanto ci avete messo per avere la casa che avete sempre sognato? E quanto tempo serve per modificare una casa o un appartamento prima di sentirlo proprio e quindi prima di creare quell'intimo e confortevole spazio che chiamiamo casa? Beh, dopo due anni, non credo ancora di poter dire che i lavori nel mio appartamento sono terminati. E' praticamente un work in progress e in particolar modo per gente come me (e come molti dii quelli che mi leggono) che non possono stare fermi e sentono come un bisogno innato di risistemare le cose, spostare gli oggetti, aggiungere o rimuovere l'inutile. Oggi è giorno di confessioni: Dopo due anni non avevo ancora messo le tende nella stanza da letto. Questo per due motivi: uno dovuto un po' alla pigrizia e alla praticità e il secondo dovuto al fatto che vivendo in un attico, non soffro di sguardi indiscreti di fronte. L'altra sera, mi sono decisa, perché sul terrazzo verdissimo del palazzo di fronte al mio un gruppo di ragazzi hanno dato una festa. Ecco qua il momento in cui decidersi di mettere le tende. Non saranno necessarie, ma la privacy è sacra. E sono felicissima di averlo fatto. Con le tende beige in un tessuto che riprende un po' lo shantung, la stanza ha acquisito carattere, è cambiata in un istante. Non vedo l'ora di condividere qualche foto, ma nel frattempo vi lascio con qualche bellissima immagine dove le tende costituiscono dei veri e propri elementi décor.


How much did it take to have the house you dreamed of? How much does it take to make the necessary changes so that you can feel in your space, the intimate and cozy space you call home? Well, after two years in my actual apartment I don’t think I can consider it finished or done. It is a work in progress, especially for people like me (and you) who are always changing the place of objects around the house and never get enough of what they have. Well, let me make a confession: I finally put the curtains in my bedroom. All at once, It simply looked more warm and more intimate. I hadn’t put them because living in a penthouse and having literally no one in front of my windows, I didn’t feel they were essential. The other evening, on the terrace in front of ours, some young people had an evening party. It was that party that made me think it was high time I hung curtains in my bedroom. Maybe curtains are not but privacy is essential to me. I am more than convinced and can say that I did the best thing, because even though I advocate a decluttered and quite practical way of living, there are some things you just can’t get rid of. I will soon share some before & after pictures of the bedroom, but in the meantime have a look at these gorgeous interiors where curtains make the difference and are quite a statement piece of décor.
