Decorating the kitchen - What I am loving right now - Idea decorazione in cucina

It's no secret I love minimalist style, neutral colors and combinations and everything that makes an interior look soothing and relaxing. Colour, though, is a necessary element to add some life to a neutral base. One of my biggest obsessions right now are the colored, patchwork tiles in the kitchen. I have been also loving metro tiles in recent years, but having white cabinets in the kitchen I would be more than happy to add some character to its backsplashes and ceramic patchwork tiles, all mixed together are the perfect solution. ROOM OF THE WEEK

Trovo questa cucina davvero bellissima. Il mix di pezzi di decor contemporanei (vedi la lampada geometrica e le sedie degli Eames e dall'altro lato lo stucco curatissimo del soffitto) rendono questo spazio perfetto per ricevere gli amici. Godetevi il fine settimana. E' stata una settimana alquanto bagnata e non vedo l'ora di godere di qualche raggio di sole!

I find this family kitchen really beautiful. I love the mix of contemporary pieces, like the pendant and the Eames chairs with the wonderful and polished stucco of the ceiling. It is such a warm place to entertain your beloved ones. Have a wonderful week-end! We have had a soaked and very wet week and I am just longing for some sunny days. BYE!

Black beauty - Nero in cucina

A black kitchen? How would you friends react? I have a total white kitchen, white tiles on the floor, white cabinets, a white pendant lamp, a white fridge and a white oven. I am getting a little tired of all that amount of white, it reminds me of a lab. It is very bright of course, but my kitchen is south exposed is just flooded with natural light. The only furniture that brings a little warmth in the middle of white is a wood table. The opposite and most  radical choice to all that white would be black cabinets everywhere and only some little touches of color. Some of the things I am considering righ now when it comes to home decoration is replacing white tiles with a much more functional, warm hued flooring, and second, replace the bright white cabinets with another color. What about metallic gold or just black? It is just an idea, I do not really know if I will ever put it in practice (personal tastes, hubby intervening), but I am really enjoying it….
