Sunny memories - chapter 1

Well, officially autumn begins the 21th of September. It obviously leads to the concluson that I have only one week left to share my summer Holiday diary. I just have to hurry up. I know that in many parts of the world fall has arrived bringing wind and rain along. Well, you can legitimally feel envious. In Rome we have had just a few days of rain but it doesn't mean we are giving up on summer. Living in Rome is such a great privilege, at least for the weather... Until the first days of November it is almost springlike and the chilly evenings spent outdoors are magical and really enjoyable. Needless to say that I feel nostalgic about the wonderful sunny days I spent by the fabulous and spellbinding Tyrrhnian seaside. Here are some pics I took in Anzio and some wonderful finds I did during my coastal wanderings. Hope you enjoy!

 

Ufficialmente autunno arriva il 21 settembre e ovviamente questo mi porta alla conclusione che mancano pochi giorni ancora per poter condividere con voi il mio diario estivo. Mi consola il fatto che a Roma l'estate dura almeno fino a metà ottobre e la bella stagione anche fino ai primi di novembre. Chi si trova in altri paesi e città alle prese con ombrelli, umidità e pioggerelle di stagione può legittimamente provare un po' di invidia. Il bello di Roma è anche questo, il suo clima. Eccovi intanto, un assaggio di alcuni posticini visitati quest'estate.

 

 

A revisited Roman villa!

These pictures were taken in the city of Anzio or Antium as it is known in history. It was the native city of Nero, the cruel Roman emperor who put the city on fire and prosecuted christians!

Uno scorcio della spaggia chiamata "Grotte di Nerone". Qui si trovava la villa di Nerone e le rovine ne sono la testimonianza.

 

Here is the statue that the city of Anzio has dedicated to the cruel emperor! Isn't that ironic? Absurd I would say!!!!!!

Questa è la statua che recentemente la municipalità di Anzio ha eretto in memoria del crudele imperatore. La storia è davvero assurda a volte!

A beautiful Golden ballet dancer in Liberty style. I was really tempted to buy it but the price was a little bit high! Just unaffordable! :-((

Una bellissimo pezzo di design di epoca Liberty scovato in un negozio di oggetti di antiquariato. Tentata fortemente di acquistarlo, ma il prezzo era decisamente alto!
